The Requirements

To be a good fit for the National Account Manager opportunity you should have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing / Business Administration or related field; an MBA is a plus.
  • 5 to 8 years of regional or national business development/sales experience with highly reputable companies in consumer package goods or another highly transferable industry. Quick question for you - click here
  • A hunter mentality and a track record of success in growing both new and existing accounts.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • A proven ability to build and establish relationships with buyers and customer executives.
  • A high degree of comfort with technology, preferably including:
    • Proficiency with business intelligence / analytics tools like Tableau.
    • Experience using social media to drive sales.
  • Adaptability - the ability to thrive in a fast past and nimble environment where the passion for high performance is valued.
  • The ability to work under time and budgetary pressures.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
  • The motivation to grow professionally and take on greater leadership roles and responsibilities within our organization.
Our preference is that you are based in the Los Angeles area so that you can office in our Carson headquarters. However, we also will consider highly qualified candidates in the Midwestern or Western US, such as in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Seattle, San Francisco, etc.

You also will need to be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time. This will include calling on prospects, customers, attending trade shows and more.

Qualified candidates will be required to pass a background check.

The Role

You will report to the Vice President of Sales and partner with a variety of internal team members to include company executives, product designers, marketing managers, operations associates, customer service and other areas.

Your primary responsibility will be to identify, qualify and open new customers in the in the brick-and-mortar channel. You'll also have some account management responsibilities, including further penetrating existing customers.

The second core responsibility is to set the standard for sales excellence by identifying customer development opportunities and creating account specific new item presentations that drive growth for both the customer and Jobar. This will include doing the appropriate data analysis and building solutions that excite the account buyers, executives and ultimately end consumers.

The third responsibility is to collaborate with Jobar executives and internal cross-functional partners to optimize the implementation and execution of our sales strategy. Strong collaboration with marketing and other cross-functional colleagues is very important.

The position involves both building customer strategies and strong tactical execution. We'll also expect you to develop and maintain detailed knowledge of competitors and customer specific requirements and then use this information while creating appropriate business solutions.  

As the brick-and-mortar customers thrive on differentiation, your ability to penetrate multiple departments and establish relationships with multiple executives will be key.
